Osoyoos Indian Band
The Osoyoos Indian Band, (NK'MIP), was formed on November 21, 1877 as part of the Okanagan Nation. OIB members are a strong, independent and proud people with a rich heritage. From the early years of ranching, trading and small farms, the people have continued to grow and change with the times. Now, huge vineyards sprawl across their lands, businesses are being invited to call this home and the people have become highly entrepreneurial.

Band Membership is approximately 450 people, with the majority living on the 32,000 acre Osoyoos Indian Reservation. The Band manages businesses with annual budgets in excess of $l7 million dollars and administers its own health, social, educational and municipal services.

The Band's business interests our managed by a corporation called the Osoyoos Indian Band Development Corporation OIBDC is owned, operated and governed by the band and has become an effective method of separating business from politics.
